Safety is Love
Love, for me, has always been deeply intertwined with the concept of safety. Many people don’t realize that the discomfort they often feel is rooted more in a lack of safety than in the actual events occurring around them. Before I could seek safety from others, I had to learn to cultivate it within myself.
As a child, I often felt unsafe and afraid, yet I never felt empowered to express those feelings. This inability to voice my fears followed me into adulthood. I frequently found myself in situations that weren’t safe because I believed I needed to be brave before anyone would step in to protect me.
As I’ve matured, I’ve discovered that true safety comes from within. It’s about trusting the decisions I make regarding the people I allow into my life. Safety is the ability to remain rational in a society that often conditions us to react irrationally. It’s the confidence that I am safe, even when my emotions suggest otherwise.
For me, safety means not feeling obligated to nurture everyone who finds value in my energy and expertise. It’s about learning to let go of those who are harmful, even if they don’t recognize their impact. Safety is setting boundaries and prioritizing my well-being over the perceived needs of others.
Creating a safe space for myself has allowed me to connect more deeply with my body and spirit. It has taught me to recognize and honor my worth, to listen to my inner voice, and to trust my intuition. In doing so, I have found a profound sense of peace and security.
As I reflect on my journey, I realize that the essence of safety is the foundation of true love. It’s about being surrounded by those who respect, support, and uplift me. It’s about building a life where I feel secure enough to be my authentic self.
To anyone reading this, know that cultivating safety within yourself is a powerful act of self-love. It requires courage, introspection, and the willingness to prioritize your well-being. Embrace the journey of creating your own safe space, and you’ll find that love, in its truest form, will naturally follow.
Today, I stand in the knowledge that I am okay. I am truly okay. And you can be too.
