My Modern Family
This image impeccably illustrates my life. Uninhabited + varied; yet filled with loads of oxymoron’s coupled with a lot of love. Our life is full of many imperfections; but it just works! I envision somewhere in the near future; we will weep tears of joy witnessing this moment come together. This moment is a flourishing smile from the Universe with an assurance that everything is always working out.
When my wife decided to move to Atlanta it fractured her nucleus, because sometimes we must rupture the moments in our life that remind us of a life we no longer desire to live. I have always envied remains because usually you end up finding what you truly lost. I have spent days watching my wife shrink in her tears as her spine screams to be seen. It was painful observing her children make sense of our love. I believe that children must learn to crawl from under their parent’s beliefs in order to identify their own shadow. Until then we continue to plant seeds + watch them grow.
As we rejoice at this photograph, it is a petition to the Most High, the beginning of us bridging the gap + rebuilding a new, solid foundation. A subtle reminder that love is indeed the highest! Love is a process that is much too big to swallow + needs room to take up space as it matures everyone involved. I don’t know much but I have learned that when we love ourselves deeply, we ultimately teach others how it should be done.
